About Hampshire County Government

Hampshire County Government is the devolved executive government for Hampshire County within England.

Government and legislature are separate

HCG develops and administers government policy within its competence. The Hampshire Chamber is the legislature: it makes law where applicable, scrutinises HCG, controls confidence and performs the financial and scrutiny functions given to it.
